This mixed media assemblage piece started with a painted black silverware box. I removed the lid and attached a painted black oval frame and vintage paper corners to the front. Inside the frame I added black and white checked fabric trim. Inside the box is covered with a red, white and black vintage fabric. I then used an ethically sourced skunk head and made a body from black fabric. She has vintage black trim around her neck. To the front I added an old tin with red velvet fabric inside and black lace trim on the outside. Inside the tin are two sweet little mice that were the "prizes" brought from a cat. I stitched the phrase "we all bleed the same color" and attached it to the body. Behind her head is an old silver plate.
This is a one of a kind creation that measures 22.5" tall, 13" wide and 9" deep and hangs on the wall.
